Challenge #6--Goose Bumps

First up, I need to make a couple of apologies.  I didn't have the chance on Saturday to do a sneak peek for this month and there were also some DT changes I wanted to inform you of in a separate post.  Unfortunately, this past week hasn't been the easiest.  Late Wednesday night I came down with an abscessed tooth and spent the next 48 hours in complete agony.  I am antibiotics and am on the mend but I'm still not there yet.  Additionally, I witnessed a traumatic event late Sunday night as I stood on our lawn and watched the upper floors of the two halves of a semi-detached home (two over from ours) burn away in a terrible fire, changing the lives of two families forever.  I'm working on processing through both but it has meant that I haven't been as diligent as I should over here.  So, apologies to Naomi, the DT and of course all our wonderful readers.

DT Changes

First up I want to let you know of some changes.  Sadly we are saying goodbye to Vicky from Crafting Vicky.  Vicky helped out by creating cards to showcase Naomi's new images, long before we ever had a design team.  Then she came on full time once the team was officially established.  We are definitely losing someone very special but completely understand her decision to move on.  On behalf of all of us over here at CBD, I wish Vicky only the best, in every aspect of her life.

Secondly, I wanted to let you know that Judith will be taking some personal time at the end of October but hopefully will be back with us again in the new year.

Finally, I am very pleased to announce that we do have someone new coming on board.  Please give a warm welcome to Sue from Sue's Paper Crafts.  Here is a little bit about Sue:
Hi, I’m Sue Kracker and I am very excited to be a part of the CBD team. I am looking forward to working with new images and getting to know my fellow team members. This is my second DT, it is going to be a lot of fun keeping up with both of them.

I have been paper crafting since 2006 and have been hooked ever since. I really enjoy making cards and I have done a several scrapbooks, the most recent being my niece’s wedding album. I also enjoy making home decorations and planned, staged and decorated my son’s US wedding. They took the banner I made and used it at the Japanese ceremony too.

In July 2012 my other half (I’m too old to have a boyfriend) and I packed up our home and moved cross country to Arizona, so totally different from Michigan where I spent most of my life.  Sadly the job market here is very bad and I have been unable to find a job so I spend my days happily crafting away. There aren’t any crafty type stores here at all so thank goodness that I stocked up on goodies before our move.

Most days you can’t walk through my craft room without tripping over something or other, I’m always working on something or other. The coffee table is always covered with whatever project I’m currently working on.

My son and his beautiful wife live in Tokyo, Japan, they send me a lot of crafting toys and a lot of my work is geared towards them. I need to make them a thank you card for my eBosser and their US anniversary will be here before I realize it.

Blog hops and giveaways are another way I fill my days, I really enjoy seeing what the DT’s have created and the items I win always come in handy for my projects. And I also enjoy enter challenges, no matter what I win for the hop, giveaway or challenge I’m always thrilled.
It is so great to now have Sue as part of the Creative Bug family!

Now on to the details for our latest challenge.

Challenge Details

Once again we will be offering up a new image for free that you can use to enter the challenge if you would like (details on how to get it are below).  However, remember that you are no longer required to use a Creative Bug Digital SnapShots image in your project. We'd love it if you would, and there is extra incentive for doing so but it is no longer a requirement.  If you do enter using a CBD image, you can enter as many times as you would like.  If using another company's image, then you will be limited to three entries.  Additionally, if you use a CBD image, you will receive an extra chance for winning the main prize.

You have lots of options if you'd like to increase your odds of winning.  You can work with this month's designated free image or if you have some past freebies that would work for the theme, you can go ahead and use them.  Of course, you can purchase an image from the Creative Bug Digital SnapShots store for your creation as well.  Click HERE to head to the store's homepage.

The theme for this month is Goose Bumps.  If you celebrate Hallowe'en or Samhein, you know that the witching hour will soon be upon us. For this challenge we want to see a Hallowe'en project with texture of some sort on it. You can achieve this through embossing or adding material or adding embellishments with texture, or some other manner. However you do it, there must be texture that we could actually feel if we had your project in front of us. If we can't visibly see that it is a Hallowe'en creation and that there is texture in your project, your creation won't qualify for the prize.

The challenge will run October 1 – November 4.

Winners will be announced in a separate post on November 12th

 New Releases

Things are a little bit different this month.  Naomi has been busy drawing and came up with four different images perfect for Hallowe'en.  One will be used as this month's designated freebie and the other three will be going into the store soon.  Each team member's creation will showcase one of the new images.

DT Features

First up we have this month's designated free image...

Edit: Hallowe'en Scene, is no longer available as a freebie.  Let's take a look at what Judith created using this image...

Monica worked with the fabulous new image called Spinning Out of Control.  While I am definitely not a fan of spiders, even I have to admit these guys are cute.  I also love this image because of its versatility.  It would make a great card for someone who is feeling a little stressed and could do with a pick-me-up.

Sue's debut card features the new image called Spookster.  Although, I am a little afraid when trees can go for a stroll on their own.  Thankfully this one has a smile on its face so hopefully it is friendly all of the time.

http://craftysuze.blogspot.co.nz/
Suze worked with the new image called Sabrina the Candy Throwing Witch.  Well, if a witch is going to have to throw something, one can only hope that it is something as good as candy.  I'll take that over spells, any day!

Hopefully that will help provide you with the inspiration to get your creative juices flowing!  Clicking on the individual bugs will take you to each DT member's blog to check out the details of their projects including how they achieved texture.  Our team members work very hard to inspire you, so please go and see them if you can.

Challenge Rules

Just like in all challenges, there are a few rules to follow:
  • As stated earlier, You do not need to use a Creative Bug Digital SnapShots (CBD) image to enter the challenge; however, if you do, you can enter as many cards/projects as you like!
  • If you use a Creative Bug image, please add CBD after your name--example: Lisa CBD.  Link up once using your actual blog post and then link a second time using your blog address so that your name will be entered twice into the drawing for the prize.  Please note that you can enter as many times as you would like as long as you are using a CBD image.  Each one must be unique and part of a different post.
  • If you choose to enter the challenge using another artist's image you are limited to three entries. If you submit more than three, the additional entries will not be counted in our winner's draw.
  • You must follow the theme for the specific challenge.  For this month it is GOOSE BUMPSFor specific details, please see above.
  • You are allowed to enter a variety of projects as long as they adhere to the theme, i.e., cards, tags, digital design, artwork, mixed media creations, candles, etc.  The ideas are as boundless as your imagination.
  • New projects only, no backlinking.
  • You are welcome to combine your entry with other challenges.
  • Please link your project post to the challenge blog, not your entire blog link (except in the case where you have use a CBD image and are adding a second entry).
  • Please include a link back to this blog in your entry post.  If you don't know how to create a link, make sure that you at least include our blog address in your post so that others can find us.
  • Email entries will be accepted if you don't have a blog.  Please submit them to: CreativeBugDigis {at} outlook {dot} com (just be sure to replace 'at' and 'dot' with the appropriate symbols).
  • The challenge will end at 6:00 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, November 4th.
  • Please, consider turning off word verification. Word verification is time consuming and when you have it on it takes everyone longer to leave a little love and unfortunately our team members do not have the extra time to waste. So please turn off word verification if you want us to leave a comment. We hope that you understand.
  •  We reserve the right to remove any entry that does not meet the concept of the challenge or rules.

Prizes!!!

Along with the brand spanking new freebie Hallowe'en Scene, you will get the opportunity to win:
  • Five digital images from Creative Bug Digital SnapShots for a person chosen in a random draw based on all eligible entrants.
  • An additional prize of three images will be presented to a random winner who has used a CBD image in their project.  In theory, that means that if you use a CBD image, you could win a total of eight images!
  • A top three will also be chosen (as long as there are a minimum of seven people entering). Each person in the top three will also get to choose an image from the store.
  • Additional prizes may be added, you just never know!

Join Us!

We can't wait to see what you come up with!

I'll be back next week letting you know who the winner was in Challenge #5 and then the team will be back on October 15th with our midway post with more wonderful creations to inspire you. We hope to see you all again very soon!
