Saturday Sneak Peek -- Love is in the Air...Week 3

Good evening everyone.  It seems posting later in the day on Saturdays is becoming the norm instead of the occasional.  Thank goodness no one else has to post this but me so it is okay if I'm a bit later than usual.  Since there are a hundred other things I need to accomplish in the next hour and a half, I better get moving.

It is time for the final sneak peek in our Love is in the Air collection.  Check out what is in store for this coming Wednesday...
This might get interesting.  Heck, who am I kidding.  Your guesses are always interesting.  So, if you think you might know what the OVERALL image may be, no matter how outrageous the guess, please offer it up by Tuesday, Feb. 25th at 12:00 pm EST (noon) in a comment on this post to be eligible to win a possible goody.

Don't Forget...

There is still an opportunity to win a copy of Naomi's latest release, 'Love Struck Bears'.  Click HERE and scroll down to find out how.

Crop-A-Dile"s Extra Creative Side/ CAS Card

Hello and thank you for visiting today!!!

I had fun creating this CAS card , I seen a similar card in "Scrapbooking and Cards Today" magazine and had to make it, I love the soft yellow mixed with brown and white and I created it in all but 30 minutes! I choose to only put "BE" as the sentiment on the front of the card as I can later put anything I want on the inside may it be Amazing, Creative, You, the list can go on.

Both the yellow and Brown paper is textured which is hard to see in the photo and the yellow paper has white paper on the inside which makes it perfect for distressing the edges, the white really shows, (in a better photo that is!

To create the holes in the yellow paper I used my Crop-A-Dile,  I used both size holes and punch them randomly. I never thought to use this tool for decoration, it will no longer be sitting on my shelf for months without use for I rarely ever use brads.

Have a great day!!!

Bit By the Bug: Another Bug is Born...Love Struck Bears

Welcome to week 2 in our Love is in the Air collection of new releases.  I hope that you all had a faboulous Valentine's day and that you are able to keep the love going every day afterwards.  The next image being released in this new collection is perfect for expressing your affection to a certain special someone in your life...

Both versions of Love Struck Bears are in the STORE in the Special Occasions section under Valentine's and are available for purchase, if you are interested.  Clicking HERE should bring you right to the Valentine's section.

Team Bugalug is up with creations to showcase Naomi's sweet new image this week...
Judith decided to work with the coloured version of the bears.   Check out that background!  The colours suit the image perfectly and I love that they are going down a trail in a different kind of fantasy world.  Great digital embellishments add the perfect touch.  You can check out all the details of Judith's creation by visiting her blog, Judith's Adorable Creations.

I love this bright creation from Suze.  Those bears look at home wandering down through this card.  The contrasting turquoise embellishments are wonderful.  Love that sparkly ribbon.  You can check out the details of this creation over on her blog, Craftysuze.

Monica, a team member of Bugaloo, also had some time this week and created a card using the new release...

Another adorable creation.  Pretty papers and diecuts showcase the bears beautifully.  The sentiment on the inside matches nicely too.  If you are having problems reading it, click on it to bring it up larger in the lightbox.  You can check out all the details of Monica's card by visiting her blog, TaylorMade 4U.

Even Naomi had the opportunity to create a card...
How sweet!  Naomi also chose to use the coloured version of the stamp (although it appears she has added some glossy accents to the bears themselves) and then nestled it among some lovely diecuts and ribbons.  What an adorable wedding or anniversary card!

Sneak peek guesses...

Thanks to all of you who offered up guesses.   While everyone got the kissing part right, no one got the animal part correct so I get a breather this week.  Probably a good thing considering how far behind I am in everything.

Now, it is your chance to win a copy of the latest new release...

Once again you have the opportunity to win a copy of Naomi's newest release.  In order to have your name in the running to win a copy of Love Struck Bears, I want to know, who in your life gives you the best hugs?  I'd love to hear your thoughts on the subject.  Leave a comment ON THIS POST by noon on February 25th, in order to have your chance at winning this image.

Winners will be announced Feb. 26th during our next new release!

Which means it is time to announce the winner of the last new release.  I had wanted to know,  how old were you when you had your first kiss, do you remember the name of the person you kissed and where did it take place  Oh my goodness.  Apparently that brought up some rather bad memories from a few of you.  Sorry about that.  However, I do appreciate you sharing and we had some new faces in the mix this week too which was absolutely wonderful.

Now since I made you tell, it is only fair that I do the same.  I was 13 years old.  His name was Mike and he was my very first boyfriend.  We were on a class trip to Niagara Falls and were going through one of the dark museums.  Nothing more needs to be said.

Time to tell you who won a copy of the last new release, Hearts Bouquet.  Since there were six of you who participated,  I'm going to give two copies away...

  Charlene
 Lynda
(randomly chosen at  Mini Web Tool)

Charlene and Lynda, please contact me by clicking HERE with the subject heading 'Hearts Bouquet' to get your copy.  It might take me a few days to get back to you, so I appreciate your patience.

Now for our next love related joke...
Q: What did one pickle say to the other?
A: You mean a great dill to me.

Well that is it for this one!  I'm actually managing to keep up with most of the Olympics.  I'm trying to listen to what I can during the day while I work on the computer and watch as much as I can at night.  Canada has slipped down quite a bit in the medals list but at last count we were up to 17 total.  We got 26 in the last winter Olympics so hopefully there are a few more in store for us.
Please join me on Saturday with the next sneak peek.  Until then, have a fabulous week everyone!

Emboss on Tim Holtz's "Grunge Board Blocks"/ Happy Anniversary Card

Hello friends and possible future friends, thank you for visiting my blog today!

Oh how fun it is to be back but also challenging... I forgot how much effort there is to putting a post together, not only photo taking, remembering the products and how you made it but also how to word everything!!! lol
You have to remember I live in PEI but I am a pure bred Newfoundlander and we have quite an accent as I am sure you have noticed when I posted a video of Michael walking on Friday... I am from Marystown which is close to where Shaina Twain's family originated (Lawn), did you know that I am Shania Twain's distant cousin which I only found out last year and whatdaya know I sing and compose as well...runs in the family! Her real name is Eileen Edwards for those of you that don't know. Fun facts!

Now on with the show....

Some of you may have heard of Tim Holtz's Grunge Board Blocks but for those of you who didn't , they come complete with a random font grunge board alphabet and precut extra-thick grunge blocks, I have used the blocks in my project and  inked them up with Distress Ink.

This set  contains 199 pieces consisting of 115 letters and 84 blocks, they come as low as $11.99 depending on where you shop, great deal hey?

For my project I created a card which is quite sturdy ... I used Chipboard covered with White cardstock for the back, what I really love about this card is I can put it in a shadow box, hang it or create a stand for it, I have chosen to do the later.
I have created this project for very close friends of mine which I won't reveal their names for they occasionally drop in  and I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise.

I am totally in love with this Wooden Stamp I bought at Michael's Store, isn't it elegant? It is hard to see but if you enlarge the picture you will see I used a wood grain embossing folder for the label..love it!

I stamped the image while the grunge blocks were still attached to each other then stamped the dove image using a medium. Next I covered in white embossing powder and heat embossed it.  I broke the blocks apart then  inked each grunge block with Green Hills Shadow Ink and Mowed Lawn around the edges.

Products Used

Not seen in photo:
  • 8 1/2" by 11" Chipboard (found at Michael's Store)
  • Paper trimmer
  • Glue
  • One carnation
  • ruler

I hope you like it , have a fantastic day!!!!

Dedicated To A Very Special Boy - Colin

This is my second post today, if you missed out on my written card tutorial "XOXO" go HERE
If you missed out on Saturday's Sneak Peak, go HERE

Hello Again!
I generally don't do two posts in one day but today is different, while visiting blogs today, Vicky over at "Crafting Vicky"
had written a post about a young boy whom she learned about on FB, his name is Colin, this is his story written by his mom...

I am Colin's mom, I created this page for my amazing, wonderful, challenging son who is about to turn 11 on March 9th. Because of Colin's disabilities, social skills are not easy for him, and he often acts out in school, and the other kids don't like him. So when I asked him if he wanted a party for his birthday, he said there wasn't a point because he has no friends. He eats lunch alone in the office everyday because no one will let him sit with them, and rather than force someone to be unhappy with his presence, he sits alone in the office. So I thought, if I could create a page where people could send him positive thoughts and encouraging words, that would be better than any birthday party. Please join me in making my very original son feel special on his day.

Jennifer Cunningham also wrote:

"If you can see someone with challenges, like someone with crutches or wheelchair, you know you need to open the door for them. But if someone is acting differently, you may not know they have challenges that you may not understand.

Now how true is that!!!  Being a mom with a child with a disabilities and seeing different behaviors not understood by others, my heart goes out to this boy.
What they have done in the school for Michael to make everyone aware of Autism is heartwarming as they would gather the whole grade together and talk about Michael's mannerisms, the way he talks etc.. also they put Michael in with different students every year so that everyone could get to know him. I know I am truly blessed for there has never been a major negative episode, Michael is loved by all students and they go out of their way to take care of him.
Now you could understand why this has effected me so much to think that Colin suffers the way he does and therefore his mother suffers along with him.

I wanted to be one of the millions, yes millions that send Colin a card for his birthday  and I just finished making this one:

Here is what the inside looks like before I personalized it:

I sure hope my card along with many others will send lots of chuckles and sweet warm smiles to Colin, I am entering this card into:
